Rabbi Leora Abelson was ordained by Hebrew College Rabbinical School in June 2017 and received her BA from Wesleyan University in 2007. She is originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan. She serves as the rabbi of Congregation Agudas Achim in Attleboro, Massachusetts and is an affiliate member of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical Association. She is currently completing her fourth unit of Clinical Pastoral Education at Hebrew SeniorLife in Boston, MA. She also serves on the Rabbinical Council for Jewish Voice for Peace. Leora is passionate about queer embodied theology; offering spiritual care to all kinds of people, especially those who have been traditionally marginalized from religious communities; and making Jewish tradition and practice accessible to people and movements working towards a more just world.
